Trauma (ضربه)

Trauma is a physical or psychological damage to the body caused by an external factor or sudden event that can be life-threatening or disrupt the body's function.

Types of Trauma: Trauma is usually classified from several perspectives:

1. Based on the causative agent:

Mechanical Trauma: caused by impact, fall, accident, fracture, rupture of organs.

Thermal Trauma: caused by burns or frostbite.

Chemical Trauma: caused by contact with corrosive or toxic chemicals.

Electrical Trauma: caused by electric shock or lightning.

Radiological Trauma: by high radiation exposure, nuclear explosion or radioactive sources.

2. Based on severity

Mild trauma: superficial damage, limited bleeding, brief pain.

Moderate Trauma: Medical treatment required, possible internal injury or fracture.

Severe Trauma: Life-threatening, multiple organ damage, immediate emergency action required.

3. Based on the location of the injury

Head Trauma: Trauma to the skull or brain, intracranial bleeding.

Chest Trauma: Injury to the lungs, heart, chest wall.

Abdominal Trauma: Injury to the liver, spleen, intestines, internal bleeding.

Limb Trauma: Fracture, amputation, soft tissue injury.

Spinal Trauma: Injury to the vertebrae and spinal cord, possible paralysis.

4. Based on the nature of the injury

Open Trauma: Damaged skin and tissue, cuts, lacerations, or punctures.

Closed Trauma: Intact skin, but internal injury, such as severe bruising, closed fractures.
